Plan an Orange Beach Girls Weekend This Fall

It’s that time of year: The kids are back in school, the weather is cooling off, and the beach is calling your name! Fall is the perfect time of year to plan a girls’ getaway for so many reasons; with the main reason being you deserve it! Grab your girls and leave the planning to us. Here is an ideal fall beach itinerary:

    1. Book A Place To Stay
There are so many great properties to choose from but one of our favorites is Perdido Beach Resort. This resort is right on the beach with premiere amenities such as indoor/outdoor pool, fine dining, fitness center, beach volleyball, and live entertainment poolside! Not to mention its right across the street from Sail Wild Hearts!

    2. Choose Your Restaurants
If you’re looking to keep it casual, The Gulf is a great choice. Enjoy a cocktail, seasonal menu items, relax under some palm trees, and watch the sunset right over the water! If you’re looking for something more upscale, we recommend Fishers at Orange Beach Marina. Fisher’s Upstairs is what fine dining dreams are made of. Sit along linen drapes, incredible light fixtures and comfortable tables to enjoy a truly remarkable meal.

    3. Book Your Excursion
You can’t plan an Orange Beach girls weekend without including one (or two) of our sailing adventures! Explore the gulf with our Snorkel and Sail Tour – a two-hour excursion with a guided snorkel session at Alabama Point! Or just take in the views with our Sunset Cruise. This cruise is around two hours with complimentary bottled water, soft drinks and appetizers. Feel free to pack a cooler of your preferred adult beverage to enjoy on the cruise!

    4. RELAX!
This is your weekend! Relax on the beach, read a book, drink champagne, eat a good meal and treat yourself to everything OBA has to offer!

  • Sail Wild Hearts is a great weekend getaway

Sail Wild Hearts is a great weekend getaway

Pack your bags! You’re headed to Orange Beach for a Sail Wild Hearts cruise. The summer may be winding down, but that doesn’t mean you can’t sneak in one more weekend getaway before the days get shorter.

Book your stay – Whether you prefer a boutique hotel or a cozy beach condo, there are plenty of lodging options in and around Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. Feeling like getting in touch with nature? Bunker down at a local RV park or one of many area campsites.

Choose Your Cruise – Once you’re settled in, give Sail Wild Hearts a call or visit us online and reserve your spot on one of our cruises. Nature enthusiasts love our two-hour Snorkel & Sail Tour, and for the adventurers, there’s our high energy Kayak Adventure Snorkel Sail. Our most popular sail seems to be the Family Adventure Sail, a two-hour cruise that features a little bit of everything. Or for just the two of you, go with the romantic Sunset Cruise. You won’t regret it.

Worked up an appetite? Venture along one or more of these food trails and discover the best seafood at Fisher’s Dockside, gumbo at Doc’s Seafood Shack, burgers at Luna’s and fun cocktails at LuLu’s.

Head Outdoors – Ready to explore the great outdoors? Pier fishing and charter fishing trips are great options for amateurs and pros alike. For the landlubbers, there’s scenic hiking along the Alabama Birding Trail and the Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail. Just make sure to pack your walking shoes and binoculars!

Consult the Calendar – When planning your weekend getaway to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, always check the calendar to see what concerts, events and activities are planned during your stay so you can join in the fun.

There’s no better way to spend a weekend than camping, cruising, eating and exploring your way around Orange Beach! Hope to see you this weekend.

  • Set Sail for the Last Blue Angel Flyovers of the Season

Set Sail for the Last Blue Angel Flyovers of the Season

The Dolphins & Blue Angels Sail is one of our most popular Orange Beach sailing adventures, and for good reason. We personally don’t think there’s any better way to experience the Blue Angels than by boat. Imagine lying back on Wild Heart’s trampoline and watching these world-famous pilots perform their awe-inspiring maneuvers high above.

Practice sessions generally last about an hour, but when you sail Wild Hearts, the entire trip becomes an adventure. We sail to a historic Civil War fort in a protected lagoon where you can snorkel, kayak, paddleboard and even explore Fort McRae. Plan to spend a full day with us, as the entire trip is about six hours. There’s no need to worry about packing a cooler, either. Our crew prepares a light breakfast and lunch, complete with bottled water, soft drinks and fruit. Lunch is served when we anchor to watch these elite Navy fighter pilots practice their adrenaline-pumping stunts.

On the way back to the dock, there’s no shortage of scenery and wildlife. Watch native dolphin pods surf the waves near the sailboat, and take in the fresh gulf air.

Remaining Blue Angels practice dates for 2016 are Oct. 12 and 19 plus Nov. 2 and 9. The cost is $99 per adult (plus tax) and $69 for children 12 and under (plus tax). Book early to reserve your spot.
